When the designer asks for a raised floor he firsts chooses the kind of covering he wants to use. The superficial finishing is the key element in the appearance of an environment. Then he has to choose the type of panel which best fits the technical requirements of the project. The key features in this choice are: sound-insulation, load resistance, compatibility with the covering.

It depends on height
With low heights we will have to choose a ledger free structure, to use all the space available.

Minimum height
5/8 cm are sufficient for the installation of all the traditional devices (phone, computer connections, pipes and electric cables)

30 cm are necessary.
When the underlying section serves for air conditioning too. In this case it is better to use a heavier structure with mechanical fixing. It is possible to design and realize bigger heights (from 100 to 200 cm)

Load resistance
It is a basic element when there are several technological needs, that may involve exceptional loads. The structure is then the key element while the covering is important for its anti-static features.


In this particular context a raise floor becomes the tool for: - the renewal of pre-existing plants - solve the problem of plant positioning in particular situations:
we discourage the practicing of direct actions on the structure - the installation, if the height permits it, of the pipes for
heating plants and of the heating device as well
- the distribution of the waterworks and hygienic plant



In this case it is very important to know what will be the final utilization of the raised floor. The height of the floor and, consequently of the storey, depends on what technological plants will be hosted inside. In a new project it is possible to plan in advance the positioning of the raised floor in relation to the needs of connection between the existing systems and materials.
